Thanks Christopher . . . I imagine it depends a lot on where one goes up and down those long coastlines . . . unless you get to Hawaii!

Thanks for commenting on my photo. this is a great shot too, great for ground rocks. The biggest difference I noticed in west coast surfing is that the breaks are a lot closer to the shores, on the east coast you always need a long lens.

Well, Doyle, enjoy living at the sea as long as you can.
(And shoot some nice ones for me? ;-))

No, I still live a short walk from the sea . . . I will be moving inland in a few years though.

You live no more near the sea? If I may ask of course.
Anyway, I can hardly wait until summer when it's time for Greece and sea!

May be I am a bit too biased towards your image because the sea is my home, but nonetheless, should I choose a photo to jump in the water - if I could - then this would be yours!
Wild, impossible to tame, wonderful!

Nacho: Ok . . . one comment to add more sky, one to crop . . . maybe I did find a happy medium. I think I'll work with this image and add a second version.
Thanks and regards - Doyle I

TL: Good point - However - the sky was nothing but a slate with no real definition. I thought to much would be distracting from the waves. You may be right . . . I'll have to check it out again and compare. - Regards, Doyle I

Good shot, but in my opinion i'd like more sky to the picture to get a better balance. Nice tones and movement. Congrats.
