About From a balcony above the fishpond, I spied this small child feeding the koi. In a few other shots, you can really see the swirly effect of the fish in the water.

Wonderful capture. You get a real sense of the movement of the koi

Mark Beltran   {K:32612} 6/3/2004
While this is thoroughly complete, I was wondering how it would look through a polarizer. But like you mentioned, the swirl effect probably has a lot to do with the desired results.

Great image! The movements in the water make the impression of an oil paint and it's like the boy is just finishing the painting. Sorry the rating is down, anyway, a BIG 7!

Very beautiful texture on the water. It almost looks as if the child is entering into a magnificent impressionist painting. Great body of work overall!

Mary Sue: this is a beautifully seen image. I think you are the most unassuming photographer I have ever met! I love your portfolio, and if I ever need to be reminded of what a lovely, and well-seen photo looks like, I will visit.

Thanks to all who have commented. I appreciate your feedback. It was a treat to see this small boy, who was both enchanted and a little bit afraid of the fish. Thanks again for your kind remarks, it means a lot!

Way way cool Mary. Love the tight crop and choice of framing this verticle. Just love how the arm of the child leads my eye into the swimming color. I would also like to see this in B&W for a completely different feel/mood.

Excellent capture Mary Sue. Looks like a painting with the swirling action in the pond. The little boy takes this to another level. Really, a remarkable photograph!

I love this image, taken from a great vantage point, which emphasizes the child's wonderful interaction with the koi, enhanced by the precise moment you shot - with the boy's outstretched arm. The bright colors stand out nicely, I really like this!

This is an outstanding shot, Mary Sue! Perfectly composed and captured at precisely the right moment when the little boy has his arm extended feeding the fish. The cup with the fish food is a really nice touch, and keeps the image from being too 'centered.' The turmoil in the water is really great, too! This goes into my favorites!
