About It's early evening and I'm watching the baseball game when my daughter, all excited, tells me there is a bat in the front entryway to our house. So I quickly grab my camera and go around to the front of the house from the back yard so I wouldn't scare the "bat" away. The first thing I noticed was that the "bat" had it's wings spread out which they normally don't do. Then after taking the picture and looking at it, I realized it was a large moth, not a bat. May I introduce you to the Black Witch Moth.

This was the second time my kids got there animal wrong. The first time a few years back there was a bat in the same area as this moth but they thought it was a frog LOL!

An interesting fact Riny. I wanted to get a ladder to get a closer shot but was afraid it would see me and fly away.

Great Find Clay, moths have ears, probably to detect the echo-location sonar of hunting bats allowing them.

Regards.
