This outdoor portrait was originally shot in late afternoon, winter, very overcast flat available light; hence the image was flat, not flattering. I would show you the original, but my lovely model has requested I do not, and I must respect her wishes.
I know this is the type of image some will dislike as it took hours of post processing and may be seen as "overdone".
My concept was to use the original picture as sort of a sketch and "paint" in over that, as though it were actually hand coloured. I did not use layers, but a couple of filters, and in particular, the simple brush tool.
The make-up (which I applied to the actual model) was really very similar to what you see. I have darkened the eyebrows quite a lot though.
