Yes, Riny - the Black Country stretches from Smethwick to Wolverhampton and from Walsall to Stourbridge. Dudley is usually regarded as its centre. It was said to be "black by day and red by night" when the industrial revolution was at its height. The area sits on the South Staffordshire coal seam.
