Your about reminded me in some strange way about the article I was writing recently :P It was about the very rare Iriomote cat. Japanese government created the project to protect the species and one of the elements was additional feeding cats with chickens (they live on a small island and there are also feral domestic cats that hunt for the same prey). Well, the result was that many Iriomote cats stopped being interested with their natural prey and started hunting on poultry... So they stopped feeding ;)
Also reminds me of Elza the lioness ;) Teach the cat hunting ;)
