City - Walls of Jerusalem NP State - TASMANIA Country - Australia
About
Each year the Scoparia flowers in the Alpine areas of Tasmania - every 2nd year it is more intense. This beautiful morning at the Pool of Siloam, Walls of Jerusalem National Park, last week 15th January 2009. It is a 5 to 8 hours hike in and we camped for 2 nights. Although this might look like a HDR composition it is a single exposure using 2 stop NG graduated filter
Thanks Joanna - It's true that during summer there can be lots of snakes around. Just Guessing you were camping late February or perhaps March. There are 3 rules for walking in summer, 1, Take a stick and bang it on the ground - make lots of noise while walking. 2, Always have someone else walk ahead 3, Always go hiking with someone who runs slower than you. Cheers
I thought i recognized those flowers!! An amazingly gorgeous spot, I have enjoyed walking & camping in the Walls of Jerusalem myself- but still shudder at how many snakes we saw ( and almost stepped on in one case)!! What a beautiful image, & great use of that filter! Nice surprise to see another Tasmanian here.
