Hi Harry.

I've been using an Epson 4490 for about 2 years. Its a flatbed but has film carriers. I think you can get this scanner for about E100-150. The bundled software is rubbish in my opinion so bought Vuescan which is excellent. Like a RAW program for scanners!!. On the whole I carry out minimal Photoshopping although I do sometimes convert to B&W if I think it looks better. Most scans are now @ 2400dpi (35mm & 120) . Whilst its not perfect and nothing like a drum scanner, for minimum cost I like it.
