About this sawdust fired vessel was created and photographed by Anna Henderson....the magic bit is that the piece cannot be reproduced, ever, because the firing technique is not predictable, it's unique to each pot, like the talented artist who made this object, you never quite know what you're going to get, exciting and those fortunate enough to have one of these things may get some pleasure from knowing that it is one of a kind!

sorry Roger, we've been had, this is a sawdust fired pot, I am told, a pot this size would probably not withstand the thermal shock of the raku kiln but it could be tried......I'll look out a raku pot and submit it! cheers,david.

ahh the mysteries of Raku... I have a collection of pieces by Enid Cryer and Julia Lock and Dorothy Burns all fired using the technique.. its weird too I went to a workshop. years ago to photograph the potters and they threw wool and all sorts of stuff in the pit...
