About This is the photo i submitted for my Cambridge photography exam last year, although it is now in Black and white and has been touched up a bit. The original one had to be in colour, but I think it looks better in black and white. Anyways, the original can be found here, and if you have nothing better to do, you can check it out and tell me what you think: http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1372503
P.S. I was a bit confused about whether what i did to the photo, counts as digital manipulation, so I'll give a brief run down of what I did and perhaps you can give me your opinions:
I turned it to black and white (obviously); I used a Glamour film effect in Corel Paintshop Pro; I then used infra-red film effect, to give t a a glow; then i darkened the edges manually, using a darken tool.

I like the black and white version too. I often wonder about that "digital manipulation" check box too. In a real wet darkroom we would burn/dodge, possibly tone, dust spot and retouch. Maybe the box should be "untouched except to convert & resize to fit UF." Best wishes

Unless, of course, you happened to have spilt vinegar on your keyboard...

I like what you say Lara. Almost everything that you can do with Digital Editing is stuff that has always been done with normal film and darkroom work. The only difference is that now it is a lot easier and quicker to do.

Well, sure it's manipulation, but I think photography has ALWAYS been about manipulation. I mean, even choosing how hard the paper you print on is manipulation.

I think your post work is subtle, and does not in any way detract from her beauty. This is a strong shot. I'm sure you are proud of it.

I am not sure if those small adjustment really would constitute serious manipulation, but I do not really know either. I do know that the model is striking and the light is very nice. The off center image works very well. A for the day!!
Be well, Stan
