Thanks a lot for the detailed info about the making, Saad!

And of course I am interested in all details. Isn't that what we all should be interested in if we claim to be wannabes?

Cheers!

Nick

dear Nick,it seems that you interested in every detail regarding shots in general, this allow me to tell you the story of this shot, after I have corrected its levels of highlight and shadows,I thought it would be a good subject for black and white short,I desaturated the shot, and the carnation showed no any change fro its color state,so I decided to post it inn its color form, and the little green stalk that remained will indicate it is being a colored shot,I think it is difficult for the photographer to show a flower in a color form and only the black and white colors is what you get, this my idea about this shot, what help me the pure white color and the black background, thank you my friend for supporting me all the line, regards,
Saad.

Good details on the foreground half of the image, Saad, and I think that tehy were needed on the background half too. The good contrast between the highlights and the shadows add muchs tension. To me the vague green behind the flwoer is also important here, as a reference to depth. It seems to add plasticity to the shape of the carnation.

Cheers!

Dear Stan,it is the support of you and other friends that keep us in our high spirit stand, and it is your praying and ours that make us withstand the injustice and unfair position of occupant,I am sure some day there will be an end and the light will shine again in our country and our heart, appreciate your stand as if you are here with me giving hand ,not to me only, but to all my people,
may the God bless your family and lovers,
Saad.

Dearest Saad, it breaks my heart to know that my brothers have to suffer for nor reason other than being in a country occupied under false pretense. I have been against the circumstances that have befallen your country and have been very vocal about the inhumanity of these actions. If I could trade places even for a few months with you I would do it in a heart beat. I am so discouraged that your country has to live in such terror and constant strife because of the invasion. I had to be in Viet Nam and certainly realize the terror you must live in daily. My prayers for you and your family never end. I only hope that this will all come to an end before much longer. This has disturbed me from the moment that this happened to your country.
Be well, Stan

thank you Aziz, this is a minimal DoF shot, and it is meant just the flower to be in focus, and I succeeded in doing that against the black background,my regards,
Saad.

dear Stan,I don't want to bother you by our news in Iraq, but you have to know that I can not use it outside my home,if I want to use it properly for shooting,I have to go outside Iraq, and I wish you a big and good catch,as for me,i feel very young inside me,but we are unlike you, we are prisoners at our homes,it is 4 PM now,and I will not leave until the 7.30 am tomorrow,to my work, which is mandatory to make living, and when you leave home there is somehow a good chance that you could not return home, and to be fair the general conditions are better than the previous three years,I have went outside my home once in this fasting month at night,
thank you for asking, and have my best wishes,
Saad.

Like the crisp edges and the composition. What happened to the new camera? Thought I would be seeing more of it. Hope you are feeling younger my friend. I am headed out the door to go fishing.
Be well, stan
