Really? And I thought that the B&W was better, but now.... Anyway, good to know that we have two diametrically opposite possibilities here.
Thanks a lot Indranil!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Dave!
Strange but on my monitor I still see some colors on the flower. Very very dark but still they are there.
Cheers!

Thanks a lot Aziz!
Another good idea, and I didn't even think of that. So let's see it in B&W. (Attachment.) Any bettering?
Cheers!

Turned to B&W after Aziz' idea |

Thanks a lot Kiarang!
I still wonder if an even darker plant wouldn't be better.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Indranil.
But it is not that "different" as we have tones of similar images in the "neo-romantic" stream. You'll find dozens of similar postcards around here. It's quite the same kind of subjects and contents on all of them, and they are also quite easy - piece of cake actually. At that time I was just trying to exercise this kind of look, more or less. Still of course I am happy if you find them so "different".
Cheers!

Thanks a lot, Harry! I also have the impression that my idea to allow some color show through was not really the best way to do that. So, let's try the "simple man's" version. I burned the flower a bit until the colors darkened considerably. (Attachment.) Better, worse, no change?

Burned the flower for darkening it after Harry's idea |

Very nicely composed silhouette, with a good background, Nick! I like it the way I see it on my monitor, the completely black silhouette. Dave.

Here the "exposure" and silhouette makes the character; emphasized. nice tone. personal and likeable!

I just love this photograph. Totaly an artistic look. Great observation Nick. Looks simple and elegant. Great stylization. I like your ideas and photographs because I seen you always try to catch different than others, beyond common ideas.

Yes, black is good here bcse it makes it a contre-jour. Colors will make things complicated and i am a simple man.
