I think because Santa Monica is a tourist spot there are more homeless people there than there are at most beaches in S. California. I got shots of at least 5 or 6 homeless people there in the short time I was there.

Hey Gary, I agree with you that a majority of the homeless people have some sort of mental illness and need help. The problem is finding the ones that want to be helped and the ones who do need help but won't do what is necessary to get better and then there are all of the people who are just plain lazy and just want to scam off of hard working people. One day I plan on interviewing a few of these people to see how they got to this point in their life. I think it would be very interesting. I even starting writing a story about a homeless person becomming a productive member of society. Maybe one day you'll see my story on the big screen.

Hey Fabio, without getting too religous, I believe the bible says that only people who know Jesus as their personal lord and savior will get into heaven. It doesn't matter what their earthly status is.

I'm sure there is some form of relief / aid available. If he knows how to go about getting it and if he would do what is necessary to get it is another story. I know the city that I live in side aside an area known as "tent city" where some of the homeless live.

This is street/documentary photography at it's best. Many homeless people have some degree of psychological illness, which makes it disgraceful that a community, especially a wealthy one, would allow this to happen so easily.
