These old roads can last for centuries, 1000 years. Old Romans roads are still usable. Howerver riding on a bicycle is more comfortable on a asphalted road that needs renewal every 10 years.

I will exchange all the oil with one cottage like this,oil needs other things to keep, and a big wise mind in order to gets all from it,otherwise it is better not have it, it is then just a drop of sugar that collects,guess what? Saad.

Bricks are universal here Saad, they were made of clay and cheap and easy to make. So all is made of bricks. Until we got oil and could make tarred roads ;-)
