We used to have pet racoons, this ones face and expression reminds me of one of them. Alison

Very nice detail and lighting, amazing how close you are, I was wondering if it was in the wild until I read your comments about the zoo.

A superb portrait of that bandit! Your main focus was absolutely great here, Dave! Even the reflections in his dark eyes, even the texture on his nose, is adding vivid life here! And the contrast of his face to the rest of the fur that "dissolves" into the depth makes the image looking just as if I were face to face with the racoon!

The collection of good images of nature grows!

Cheers!

Nick

Nice detail in this one Dave. The colour is very natural looking too.
I can't believe they actually keep some of these in a zoo in Manitoba! Maybe we could ship a few thousand of them from Toronto, if you don't have enough over there. I think they actually prefer living in the city to the bush. It's a lot easier to find food.

Great focus and composition. Does the Bandit some real justice. I fight them off for my corn harvest every year. They are so persistent when raiding a garden.
Be well, Stan

Great shot Dave with the 1.7 Tcon that I will try to use with my 26mm-520mm SP570UZ if I actually need to! :))

My 12 Year Old Japnese Female Calico has a raccoon's tail by the way but a very different beautiful as this guy has!

Thanks for sharing ... I just love wildlife images even if they are domesticated or otherwise ...
