Very creative, Joggie! Did you know that you had an owl before you combined the photos? This gives me some ideas. An upcoming photoproject in our club is "faces in nature." Perhaps I can creatively meet the criteria doing a montage. Eb

The very pleasant cinnamon tones together with the smooth curves really absorb, Joggie! The exposure was again so well balanced that nothing was lost. Quite the contrary, the wood became tangible on the image.
The nicely "clean" composition enhanced also your intention to emphasize the similarity with an owl. BTW, do you mean a stich or an overlay (HDR) of two images?
Anyway, very elegant natural geometry that one could look for a long time without really thinking of anything. Thus, quite a "pacifying" image - it conveys silent peaceful elegance. Something like that.
Cheers!
Nick

What a great eye - so clever of you to have put the two photos together to create this abstract. Colors, textures in the details, lighting - super. Had to pop this in to my favs - even tho I am not really an abstract-type person - this is great. Jan
