No, just pick the EV range of interest
can be -3 to +1 for eg a very light image ..

The very hard looking stones are in great contrast with the background sky here, Harry. The HDR procedure helped the light on the tower and the rocks on the bottom very well to depict the textured material in such a way that its hardness becomes tangible. It does have that certain toning of the 70s - early 80s, which I find also well fitting here, especially because of the rather simple or even "solitary" composition. It brings much of that "documentary" attitude in the sense of a historical record of some old civilisation.
BTW, is there a special way to decide which range of EV to take for shooting the frames that will be combined into a HDR image? I don't have any experience with that and so I thought that it had to be symmetrical around the metered EV - for example from -2 to + 2. But it seems that this doesn't have to be?
