Another bird we don't have in Toronto.
Strange that you would have Pelicans in the middle of the country. I always thought they were sea birds? Do they migrate from up north, or stay there all year?

A good shot Dave... and looks even better when I see that shot taken using not an slr but a compact, it's impressive how the birds flying so closed to the water, nice.
I could ask for a bit less grainy texture - spots but not big deal...

Great capture on the wing my friend. I really like the sparkling foam of the water in the background. We have the pelicans on our Madison river near my place. Incredible flying and feeding machines. Have a great day.

A nice catch of the pelican on the flight, Dave! I find the absence of motion blur very attractive here, as it allows to see much more of the bird's details, including where it looks to while on the fly. Perhaps a bit more zooming in if it was possible at all. Still good work on wildlife.
