Sure it is winter there, Dan! Still images aren't only meant to be synchronous to the current time of the year?
Now, that's interesting! What is the name of those plants that retain their foliage in the cold time of the year? It'd be nice to have them here too, since everything but the conifers is only brown in wintertime here.
Are they endemic there?
Cheers!
Nick

Here you got a glance of the Arctic trasferred to some other region of the earth, Dan! It's as if we had summer sun and vegetation at -20°C. Very strange and very captivating alone for that, as the blues and whites make the atmosphere resemble that of the ice world.
But the composition does also much work here. The implicit leading lines to the target of white plants at the other side of the water add depthand direction. I think that the huge DoF was exactly the right thing to do here. The overexposed plants at the other side make the light look even stronger, as if it was reflected by ice and snow.
Quite a unique view of a spring or summer and a vegetation that doesn't seem to have notice the arctic temperatures!
Cheers!
Nick

Hi Bruce, thanks you for your comments, the more I shoot IR the more I am enjoying the results, it is also fun experimenting, because the results often are quite unexpected

Thank you Alison, the effect is the false colour scheme created when using the R72 infrared filter on a digital camera. because the filter is dark red the image comes out with red hues, so I swap the red and blue channels
