About	Detail of on of the rockfaces in the previous uploads. During fieldwork last year (2007) I spent quite a while in the Karoo and never had the time to really do anything with the photos I took. This is one of a series which I will update over time. As in the Karoo itself, one needs space and time to contemplate on its expanse, beauty and impact on yourselve. So I would like to introduce you slowly over time to one of the most captivating areas of South Africa - so often overlooked by tourism in favour of the dramatic and immediate splendour of so many other beautiful sights here. The beauty of the Karoo lies deeper than the skin - it needs time spent there to appreciate the vast expanses, the colours, natural textures and contrasts and even more the people. The Karoo grows on you as you spend time there, I just hope my photographs can do some justice to the place.

Yes Joggie. The more I look at the image the more I discover new colors and melt them in a tastefull harmony. An image to drink slowly.
