At first sight, this beach on L'ancresse Common is loaded with picture potential. I know this, and I can see it, but strangely I've had to search hard to find strong compositions on every visit. Perhaps it's just because by some curious twist of fate it seems to always be low-tide when I head out with the camera, or perhaps I'm just becoming too pedantic! These are officially the slipperiest rocks on Guernsey and in the rush to capture the perfect light, it is all too easy to slip and cause yourself, or camera, serious injury. I didn't on this occasion but have before on this beach, for a brief moment convinced I'd broken my back. Another time, only a few weeks after buying my new camera I slipped on seaweed and send it bouncing across a rock toward a rock pool. Luckily, we both escaped with minor scratches.
