Hi Julie.. A good shot..
As others have suggested, I would have cropped the image and focus on the middle portion of the image. For a windy day this came out fine..

What a soft, calming, beautifully colored blossom, Julie, with just enough "background" at the bottom for contrast. Composition here is determined by the amount of light and dark parts of the image and where you want to focus the attention to the center of the flower where the stamens (?) are. I think you have made the right choice to center that part of the flower to give proper balance to the composition with predominately light part of the image balanced by a somewhat smaller area of dark background. All in all very pleasing to the eye. Another gem dear friend. Anson.

Excellent focus Julie, right into the middle of the flower the details looks nice... plus that I like the blur petal, that gives the fealling to the watcher that I am a...bug and there is my meal hahaha.... excellent!

It was such a tough day for close-ups Keith as it was very windy. I agree with you I could have done that or cropped the image like Daniel did so the focus was more in the middle of the flower as I intended to be. Thank you for much for the feedback my dear friend.

Hey Larry, I see what you're talking about and they didn't escape me I saw it but I still like the main focus of the flower which is the middle. It was a tough day for close-ups as it was very windy. Maybe if I crop it, your eyes will like it better...hahahahahaha.

Nice shot I love the DOF, details and colours. Not sure about you but I feel with a tiny more crop at the bottom balances the shot better, creates more of a focal point on the flower???
