Hi Dave,
Your image is fine. The colour is good and I even like that graduated light in the background. But those Orchids must be an acquired taste. :) I guess you really have to know exactly what you are looking for with an Orchid.

And it is really *another* orchid, Dave, in the fullest sense of the word! Was it a flower in nature on the other recent images, so it is a flower in... quite a vacuum here! And I find intriguing this kind of total and perfect concentration on the main object that wins extreme importance on the image! It almost looks like a world of its own, which I think enhances this macro so much! This way even the back petals out of focus have their importance, since they denote "depth" on this mini world of its own. A very diffeent macro indeed!
And it makes it possible to make it also abstract-like by cloning the green part of the plant off. (Attachment). A very "productive" image!
