About I visited Woodlawn Cemetery over the weekend, this broken statue touched my heart, there was something about it that made me sad :(
A bit of history about Woodlawn:
The Woodlawn Cemetery was founded in 1863 and has provided burial space for more than 300,000 individuals. Established as a non-sectarian cemetery, people of all races, cultures and religions are at rest in the 400-acre historic site. For over 140 years, The Woodlawn Cemetery has served the greater metropolitan New York region and continues to serve families and individuals while protecting the beauty and design of the 1868 Landscape-Lawn Plan.

I am working so very hard this afternoon my dear friend...hahahaha, can't you tell? ;)
Did you see just the feet? I think I put it on a comment back to John. It was an emotional place for me Michele, I sat in front of it feeling helpless because I couldn't put it back together.
I am glad you felt what I tried to convey here my dear friend. Thank you so much for your feedback as always. They mean very much to me :)
xoxo,
Julie.

This image does have a sad atmosphere around it my dear Julie ... It is well taken with good light, texture & detail... just the broken off feet seem to make me most emotional- still a very well taken image :))
Excellent - uhhhhhhhh AGAIN !!
Hugs,
Michele~

Cemetaries don't scare me either Anson, they are so peaceful. I sat in front of this status for a while, the expression on its face was so beautifl (see the photo below) and I just felt so helpless for not being able to piece it together, I wish I could have. Big hug my dear friend.
Julie.

Cemetaries have always been a place of comfort for me, Julie, and not a sad finality. And so looking at this image I am trying to put a story together that will enhance this sense of comfort. If you came upon this little angel who had been set upright by someone else after it had been broken with its feet left behind, there is a story to that attempt to be made right, maybe by someone who is distressed to see an angel treated so harshly, and who wanted to restore its dignity which it once had. This, in itself, is comforting, that someone took the time for that act, probably someone unconnected to the interred, but just moved by the sadness in which the angel found itself. You have done an admirable thing here documenting this kindness of that unknown person. Two big hugs for that. Anson

No, in fact it is a brand new 21" flat screen LCD. The only reason that comes to my mind is that possibly my laptop monitor is calibrated, whereas my office PC monitor isn't !

Your monitor at work must from 1985..hahahhaha! That's why I asked if you were seeing something I wasn't because pixelation is something very obvious even a beginner like myself should be able to notice that. Thanks Avi.
Julie.

funnily enough, now I see on my laptop (at home) and I don't see the pixelations. but my office PC showed them !!!!!

Pixelations are some cracks/breaks in the pixels, typcially shaped like '+' that you can easily see on some images (I don't want to use anyone else's images, but you will know when you see one such)

best,
Avi

Avi, what you're seeing is how the actual stone of this statue looks and not pixelation. Unless you're seeing something I can't ;) if so please explain.
Thanks my dear.
Julie.

I actually have a picture of its feet only. I will post it later for you to see.
I thought about you yesterday my dear friend as I shot the Greek parade in NYC. It was a tough day since it was so gloomy out but I got some good shots. I will post it this week :)
Hope you're well.
xoxo,
Julie.
