Hi Bill.
Thanks for your comments.
This is the first time that I use the 70-200 mm and I am very impressed with the results.
Also, Homer offers the best opportunities in the world to photograph the eagles.
Jean Keene, The Eagle Lady, ahve been running for over 30 years an eagle feeding station at the end of the Homer Spit.
Every winter she attracts over 300 bald eagles and feeds them every day from mid December to early April.
The weather in Homer is terrible for photography, but if you only have 2 hours of good light, (to quote Steve Kaufman) you can get all the eagle shots that you ever wanted in your life.
Most of the great eagle shots that you have seen from professional photographers were probably taken at Homer. To mention a few, Thomas Mangelsen, Arthur Morris, Greg Downing, Lynn Stone and many more.
My PS skills are not the best- I still learning and basically this is what I do step by step:
Apply the crop tool
Adjustments of: shadow/highlight
Color balance
Brightness/contrast
Hue/saturation
When ever is need it, I use quick mask for layers
Unsharp mask
And finally (when need it) I get rid of the halo, either manually, selecting dot by dot (that's painful)or with the clone stamp tool (an skill that I just learned from Marcus).
I understand these are the steps that 90% of the photographers follow.
And in regards the awards, the greatest prizes that I got from USEFILM are all the great people like you and many others friends that I have made through the site.

Warm Regards.

Yamil

Another winner Yamil. I just can't believe the detail you capture in your shots, Is it the lens the camera or photoshop?? Or may be all three??
Congrats on another job well done. I still can't believe one or two of these shots haven't caught the eye of the staff or judges?? I think they all belong on the front page!! another 7 from me/
