Hi Daniel. Excellent shot through glass. It is actually a Water Dragon. Very common all over the East Coast of Oz. We have tons of them at my work. You can feed them by hand.

The polarising filter on the glass is so I can control light coming back in the other direction reflecting on the glass from the inside, if you were wondering why completely.
Yes I use the camera extensively, adjusting things all the time.
I alwyas take my laptop so download all the time. On my Visit to Sydney I took about 8Gb of photo's in 7 days, and most of the time I was studying.

Thank you Daniel, yes it's very helpful, I use Neat Image pro plug-in too, but I hadn't heard of phototune or phototools. I'll check them out too.
I shoot raw exclusively, unless I'm traveling and afraid I'm going to run out of space on my flash card. Daniel I see you're using a Canon, do you use any of the parameter settings in the camera itself. Your portfolio is excellent!
Great idea to put the polarising filter up against the glass, I would never have thought to do that, I guess the glass was very clean...:) Great advise regarding bouncing the flash as well. I've not worked with flash that much, but I'll definitely try this as well.

Nothing special, just polarising filter. And held the camera filter on the glass, therefore the glass just acts like a filter. I also did a macro one of a Lizard almost touching the glass.
The photo was also a raw image so I had full control of contrast etc when importing into Photoshop. What I can recommend to you is two filters, one called neat image pro good for fixing noisey images and sharpening other details at the same time (This software is fantastic) and lastly http://ononesoftware.com/ either Phototune or PhotoTools, Phototools is a lot harder to use. Phototune is a very easy way to recolour skin tones in portrait photo's and general colour tuning.
I also have shots through glass with the flash, the key for this is angle so not to get reflection back from the flash, very sucessful. Best thing for that is experiment with camera angles flash angles or flash diffusers.

THROUGH THE GLASS?? OMG this has incredible clarity and contrast...excellent DOF with perfect details...a very impressive image Daniel. Might I ask how you managed this through the glass or what program you used to clean it up.
I see in your profile that you like to clean up old images. Can I ask what program or technique you use to do that. I recently did some cleaning of some older images, but don't have a lot of skill or practice, so your advice would be welcomed and helpful!
This should be awarded!! Great job, thanks for bringing me over...:)
