So interesting. It is wonderful that this remains to tell us something about the past. It really is striking because here in America the oldest ruins I've seen are about 800 years old (remains pueblo Indian village) -- which is young compared to what can be found in the rest of the world.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Great light, tones, and textures John, beautiful details in these ruins of the old city, I love the varying shapes and their juxtapositions...very nice against that background, you got a good DOF with nice depth too, and the clarity is also very good. Great job!! :) :)

Very interesting structure you captured here, reading your about made it doubly interesting and unfathomable to think how old it is. Evidence that civilization already existed.
Very fine details seen and I like the coloring of the horizon you have rendered, its like a scene from another time.
well done friend..
regards..

The green colour is just amazing dear John, it fits so well over these ancient walls....!! Next time I'm on Crete I will have a better look there, but also at that time it was so very hot, one couldn't just walk there fun...lol Although on the water it was wonderful, still have pics on my pc..
Well, at least the city is older then you are:) xxJen

Alxandria, that name is at many cities, of course in Greece now we have ALSO a town with that name...ok, much smaller than Alxandria of Egypt...
