About Last year I made a great work (by the number of images...;) ) of the river plate CANDOMBE , it's a carnival local dance from Uruguay and Argentine.- They dance in gropus in the street (like Rio's Carnival, but our OWN version).- Not much PS edition, photojournalist mood, direct shot, but in a strong idea about our culture.- Is also and essay.- One more.-

Except for some almost unperceivable tiny bit of "haze" at the depth, where the people in blue are standing quite in the center of the scene, I can only say, a perfect capture of the street!

The drums in the foreground, lying on a half circle around the very well depicted fire, make up for an important hint about size and depth. This gets continued by the cobblestones and the people on the street. Both are making implicit leading lines together with the explicit ones from the buildings and the sides of the road.

Most of the time we see such images under a bright snlight, but here I have the impression of a rather cloudy weather, and that is a very refreshing change, as the colors got darker and richer. It fits also very well the appearence of the pavement - as if there had been rain some minutes ago.

Looking at the left, to the faces of the people, I can really see expressions and details that make me think of a very well balanced exposure. BTW, what light metering did you use here Louis, if I may ask you?

A very direct capture with much of a live attitude.

Keep it up and best wishes,

Nick
