Thank you Mary. The softness probably came when scanning the slides. I took about 8-10 shots of that eagle. You can view the original shots here:

Thank you for your comment. That reminds me of an old Hitchcock movie The Birds. Anyway, these bald eagles are usually solitary birds and don't really group together.

I enjoyed looking at this composition. The image is a little soft to me, especially in the darker bodies. Is this something you did intentionally or could it be a by-product of the post processing? I'm not saying that the softness is a weakness, although more sharpness in the feathers would be nice too. Leaving the green background soft, as it would be with a controlled DOF, works well.

Overall, however, I really like your concept and the execution. You couldn't have chosen more perfect positions and facial expressions for this compo!

Great job.

This is outstanding. The feeling you have created is quite ominous. Can you imagine how fearful we would need to be if these creatures had the power to discuss strategy, as you have suggested they are doing right here! Wonderful work- well done too. I was checking it out to see if it was several shots of the one animal, before I read the story. The viewpoints are so varied that even under scrutiny it did not appear to be a composite. You fooled me, well done. CC
