Great geometry and coloring here that both contribute to a quite sci-fi look. It is remarkable to see how the shadows themselves build up a sequence of curves that then seems to exist on its own in addition to the other ones. The red center has also something quite mysterious - reminds me of HAL - which gets enhanced by the slightly softer focus!

Excellent in its simplicity and it really deserved to receive the award! Congratulations!
