This is a photo I took in February 2003 of the of the Imperial War Museum North, which is found in Manchester, England. It's a very unusual looking building, designed by the famous architect Daniel Libeskind - he is the designer of the new buildings on the World Trade Centre site in New York.

I agree completely with both your comments, and I realised that my available images of this building weren't very good at all. :-( I took these images quickly, as a 'tourist,' when I was there on business, so didn't pay much attention to composition, lighting, etc. My best work on the photo was probably the tight cropping in Photoshop - I somehow managed to cut off the bottom of the building at the 'photograph-taking-stage!' :-s I was with a bunch of work colleagues, so I barely had time to stop and take the photo before I had to catch them up again! ) But I wanted to get this photo up as I don't have plans to go back here again, well, not for a while anyway. Thanks.
Stephen, I have to agree with Matej, there are a few hot areas, and a few underexposed shadows. The range is quite wide, an so it's a difficult thing to capture with success. I like the shapes and the composition is well thought out.
This certainly is a most interesting building. I think the composition in this is very good, and all the interaction between the different geometric shapes and lines offer a splendid scene. The lighting is a bit difficult, the pic is a bit overexposed near the left edge, while there are a lot of shadows round the centre of the image. Perhaps a different time of day would provide better lighting conditions.
