About I like the composition here more than on "After the big summer party". So I would be glad to read any comments.

Luminosity differences

The high-speed train and the head of the alien

A sign at the road

Watching creatures

It has been a nice railway station

Watching the empty streets

The phone cabine

For the dead, all for the dead!

Before the people come

Not even flowers in the dustbin

Thank you so much for you kind and insightful comment, Avi!

Well, what could ever capture the atmosphere of autumn better than... autumn itself? And to that season belong also such scenes like this, with rather washed out colors under clouds and low light. The lower sharpness then supplies a more melancholic attitude that does support the overall atmosphere, for me at least.

In general I like such usual, tangible scenes and their details of perhaps a not as photogenic look. Much like my preference for not as glamorous but yet powerful bands, and everything else. (I like The Who much more than, say, Led Zeppelin - You know, there are many spectacular guitarists, but the composer works for the song, not for exhibiting spectacularity.)

That kind of "untouchably spectacular" image is less my case, and so I often go for the more usual scene, whatever that might be.

Many many thanks again, and excuse my extra long explanation.

And I am not saying this because it won a BIP.. by itself, it is quite an image.. the way you have resisted the temptation of saturation and sharpness, is exemplary !

You know Nick, many of us can capture many brilliant and eye-pleasing shots that automatically evoke a 'woww' from anyone who watches. But to create something exquisite from a simple scene like this, which I am sure many. many of us have noriced and passed by, is EXTRAORDINARY.

Bravo !!!!!!

Thanks a lot, Ahmed!

I myself wouldn't expect that it would be selected as a BIP.

Best wishes,

Nick

Thanks a lot for the nice detailed comment and your suggestion and your work, Jeff!! The way you turned the buildings out of focus does enhance the foreground and the leaves, but it is then not a real wide angle, and I must admit that I am perhaos a bot too passionated with wide angle images. :-)

I think that your suggestion adds interest to the foreground but diminishes the overall impression starting right on the stree in front of my feet and continuing to (almost) infinity.

Thanks again and best wishes,

Nick

nice use of dof. I might punch up the color a little. Great composition, I agree. It would be nice if those buildings weren't there or blurred a little. To put the focus on the leaves. kind of like this but a little more time spent on it. Great job. best regards, Jeff
