About No PS work. No post-processing work. No digital manipulations of any kind.

Camera motion only--pure luxagraphia.

This photograph (5166) was shot on 20 February 2007 over at Fremont's Necter.

Ropelights, as usual, shot luxagraphically.

Do try to stay out of the vortex; you'll only get into trouble...

Art - Thanks. Rope lights and neon style tubes produce some of my favorite effects for luxagraphia electronica. I actively seek them out. Now that you know what to look for, you might start seeing them too. Or perhaps they are only popular in bars and restaurants here in the US? Maybe. If you own a pub you could add some rope lights and see if that doesn't improve business. I know I'd come more often.

Yes, I guess it does take a lot of time and practise to get it just right. I want to learn how to control what I do better instead of just being enthusiastic and play. I was happy about the luxangels that I did, but it took me many shots to get them so they were recognicable also to others;-)

Annemette - Just fly. There is plenty of space here. Dont' think these are easy, even for me. The only appear easy once they are done.

Yes, this was also one of my favourites liking the vortex you made, not knowing how u did it - thatīs why itīs silly that Seattle is over there on the other side of the world! I have no chance of seing the luxpoet in action unless I of course get my sleepingbag and backpack and paddle over there in a bicycleboat.

I love the vortex you captured in the center,
it is almost too tempting to jump in, despite your warning.

I'll have to mark this one as a favorite.

Joice - Well, the first thing to understand is that this photograph involves camera motion. That's how the pattern comes into being. As to what I used to create the patterns, here is an example of a rope light:

https://ssl.adhost.com/noveltylights/merchant.cfm?pid=262&step=4

You will see that rope ligths come in many colors. The rope lights I shot for this photograph was a string of clear rope lights. The low power of the bulb causes the colors to be a little orange in the photograph.

Here is another example of luxagraphic techniques applied to rope lights:

http://www.usefilm.com/image/1169486.html

Each bulb in the rope draws one line as the camera moves.

I hope that helps you to understand.

Stunning wavy motion broken by this spiral or vortex as you name it. Better jump over it and not get caught. Beautiful tones. I wish we had such ropelight around here, and I wish I knew exactly what kind of motion you do.
