Hey Sweetie,

I’m not sure what you have read, but I don’t use a whole lot of PS, so you will never learn PS from me, but you can learn the mechanics of Photography and how I do it…

Just email me and I can teach you what I know… ; )

Just my opinion. Whole point of the site is to learn from others perspectives. Why not suggest some changes to my images? Have learnt loads from constructive criticism.

Adobe Photoshop is a fantastic tool, the only trouble is, you need a good memory.

There is so much to be learnt and it takes eons for the average individual to master (if he/she ever doe's).

If you are prepared to invest a few dollars in a tutorial, I recommend a CD put out by "Chris Orwig" . It is available from
www.lynda.com and is called Adobe Photoshop CS for enhancing digital photography. There are three CD's in the set and it is well worth the outlay.

If you have photoshop, go to the eye dropper tool and click on it. You should find a measure tool there.
Click on the measure tool and then drag it along any vertical line. Then go to image/rotate canvas and select arbitrary and click on OK and your verticls will be straightened.
If I can assist further please email me.

Clive,

I really need your help, because looking at the yellow lines I drew regarding this capture look spot on... Although I can see what your saying regrarding the rest of the verticals...

Maybe you can help solve this problem?

Thanks,

Martin

Kia Ora Martin, this is an interesting image of every day life, it is a bit too busy but none the less, it's as seen.

The exposure is out and it doe's need some post processing to give the image more contrast. Also the verticals are not vertical :-)

I took the liberty of making some adjustments in photoshop, hop you like it.

Adjusted with curves, brightness and contrast and sharpened.

James,

This is what you wrote regarding your portfolio and bio:

I am a New Zealander, living in the UK. Pictures of people in everyday settings is my main interest.

By your own admission you want to get “Pictures of people in everyday settings” and I think I accomplished, that objective, with this 1… hehehe

Normally, I would agree that it might be too busy, but this tells the whole story, IMHO!

A "Great" capture tells a story and this 1 tells a multitude if you look a little closer my friend…

Thank you for your comment,

Martin

Paul,

Thank you my friend. A bit busy and noisy, but it kind of tells the whole story... ;)

Marty

PS. How do I get one of those fancy UF symbols by my name?

A lot of complicating/distracting elements in this image. Could try cropping down to focus in on child and burger to simplfly.
