I shall not say that this this is " a nice" image, because it is in no way... But for me, besides of the technical realization, it has a symbolic value ...... the same that Jacob's staircase... regards....

Great place and most of all great lighting and tone scale on the woody path!!! Really that is a walk into the nature, and the shot present a very nicecurved part of the path that losted at the top right of the frame. Very moody shot!

Thanks so much Nick! This is exactly how I wanted it. Little higher contrast and not too bright. A litte bit of play on the tones as well. I wanted the attention on the bridge not the surroundings. Thanks again my friend!

A very well balanced composition in a very well balanced lighting, Wayne! You see what I mean, when I speak about "mastering" by working, I hope. Most of the time I see such photos with too much light but the fact of solitude is much better underlined by the rather darker hues that you chose to anhance here. So the path seems to glow and together with the details it makes the walking itself rather strong here. This one I could imagine in some photography book about gardens or forests.
Best wishes and hat off!
Nick

Thanks Annemette! I may try that next time. Here I was focusing more on solid composition as opposed to creativity stars. No worries though. I will keep the creativity flowing. :) As for going off the beaten path.. well, you can always count on me for that :) Appreciate the comment and hope to hear from you soon. -Wayne-

A walk into nature hopefully away from the path and further in to hidden places of beauty. I think I personally would have tried to find another angle, maybe lie down and take the photo from that angle:-) Best wishes Annemette

Doyle, Thanks so much for your encouraging comment. Trust me, it is a very difficult place to leave but when the sun goes down past the horizon you'd better get out or have a very good flashlight. :) This particular park is about 640 acres and has about 6 miles of trails ranging from paved paths to near rock climbing hiking trails. I will be posting a few more images from there soon. Oh and trust me, no bug, bird or interesting plant is safe from my lens when I'm out there! lol. Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon!

Wow Wayne:
VERY cool image, my friend. Subdued tones, particularly the green accents . . . a beautiful scene . . . and a composition we enter at the bottom and stroll down the long curved pathway out - - - Very tranquil to my mind . . .
How ever did you bring yourself to leave such a place?? LoL! I'd likely still be tripping along . . . OFF the path . . . looking for birds and bugs . . . and little red riding hood!! :)
Nicely done!! Excellent work!
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~
