Honestly, Devon, there is no magic number for how many pixels wide the feathering is supposed to be. I generally pick 5 pixels to see what happens and adjust from there. A pixel is the smallest definable point or element in a picture. Think of it as a dot or a tiny square. Each photo is made of numerous such pixels. Pixel can also be a measurement such as a photo being 700 pixels wide and 800 pixels high. Many refer to this as resolution or degree of clarity. In the case of feathering we use it simply as an arbitrary measure and then adjust after we see the results. --Best to you, Jan

Thank you for the lovely comment, Jan! :) I did get the hang of USING the feathering technique but I'm rusty on the pixels. I didn't quite understand it... I just knew I had to put a number in it, lol so I randomly pressed "8" and that's what showed. I didn't see any difference but judging from your comment there is a huge difference, if you would be so kind to explain to me which amount of pixels for what and how am I supposed to know what number to put, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again for the comment!

Good work, Devon; you are getting the hang of the feathering technique. Careful object selection and adjusting the feathering to the minimum number of pixels (width of feathering) needed to get the blend to occur seamlessly are the "secret". This is a good effort. Play with it a bit and you will be comfortable with this technique. You also might try going back and having another go at the picture of Cydney. --Best to you, Jan

Well, that means a lot coming from you old man! :) But the blur, was SUPPOSED to look like the they are glowing with an aura, but if it looks like nothing more but a blur then it seems I have failed in what I tried to accomplish. Although, I thank you for the comment and for the tips...
