About On one of my early morning walks along our bay area. I had my camera with me as usual, so decided to shoot bracketed exposures for HDR images.

great work. i knew it was HDR as soon as I looked at it. they really do stand out if they're processed properly. only managed to do one myself so far, but hope to keep trying in the future.

warmest regards ~ James

Thankyou John, it's kind of you to say so. The best way I can explain HDR to you is to send you off to this site that says it all way better than I ever could. Found the site about a year after first shooting for HDR photos. All the best.

Really nice work, Peter. The clarity, depth and colors are superb. It very much reminds me of some photorealist paintings. Terrific!
Congratulations on your well-deserved award!!!

Big congrats, Peter! Just logged on to waste some time while waiting for everyone to pack for our next adventure!! I'm still convinced this is the best HDR I've seen, absolutely love the dynamic movement in all that cloud and water! One day I wanna get shots like this :)

Thanks so much for the response to this image.
Never quite sure how the bracketed shots will look until they are actually processed together, it's what makes doing them so special I feel.
All the best.
p.s.
I made an error when stating the lens used for this image, it was in fact my Canon 17-40L and not my Sigma 10-20 as originally thought. My sincere apologies for my error and for any inconvenience it may of caused.

Wow! How did you get SUCH a sharp, clear and colourful shot. I've got the 20D but have NEVER been THIS successful?

Exceptional image, sharp and very colourful.
I always think that HDR gives a kind of "unreal" quality, maybe because the human eye can't differentiate such a wide range of light values at the same time.
I like this a lot.
How many bracketed exposures did you make?
Richard

It's funny how these HDR turn out, a bit of 'suck and see' involved as each one is a surprise until it's procesed. I'm starting to get my minds eye tuned into what may work and may not as far scenes go. The early or late light of the day is still the best IMO though, some things don't change in that regard.
Thankyou for the positive feedback, it's much appreciated.
To Arthur, this is my 2nd copy of the 10-20, the first one was exchanged as it had a strange clicking noise coming from within. This one is a.o.k. and cracking sharp with awesome color and contrast. All the best and thanks.

Not only did the composition and the HDR turn out great, I didn't realize the Sigma was that good. Looks real nice, great job.
