Death Valley has many beautiful vista's and in these dunes it is often hard to avoid another photographer in the shot. There is a good location, though not that I'd post directions to here. Your angle to the dunes draws you into the photo nicely. Congrats on the POD!

Nice to see this on the front page. I think the composition is actually very sophisticated. The line of the the dune leads you to the photographer. Then you look off to the right to see what he is shooting. Don't agree with Rajib - can't see that this would work without the sky!

forgot to say in first post to you:

It is in Death Valley, California, USA. about 200 miles est from Los Angeles. Very popular place for shoting.

Alpha Master   {K:538} 3/16/2007
yes, kind of. It was in Death valley. Not that in the middle of nowhere, but enough wild I would say. The hot and dry temp almost killed me during 2 days.

:) thanks Howie. Yes, Yes, Yes. I posted this pic on other sites too. As here, it is very popular, but still people try to suggest many thinks to do: to crop, to change colors, and TAKE OUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER. I agree somewow, but the point is that something should be there. Nobody else was there. and this is not an aranged picture. I even do not know him. It was a moment (about 2-3 minutes).

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for constructive sugestion.

cheers, alpha

thanks Rajib for stopping by, and I really appreaciate your opinion. Yes, I tried many crops of this pic, and finally I picked up this one. Maybe you are right, but I think depends on what you want to see.

Beautiful place. I like the photog in the shot . . . always have enjoyed those! Beautiful rich colors too. I can see that he's shooting a person(?) on the central ridge in the shot - lower curve and think you have enough in this shot to just leave it alone . . . as far as cropping it goes. I like the photog AND the subject . . . and the sky does not bother me at all. Nicely done!

Doyle I <~~~~~

A lovely composite but for me I would prefer it without the photographer, or just someone standing there not taking photos.

Rajib Banerjee   {K:1557} 3/15/2007
Lovely shot. But i think if you cut the sky then the picture would be much better.composition is also very good.

Thanks for shareing.
