I had the right concept, but nothing went right for this shoot Carol. The backdrop was too small, I had her standing too close to the backdrop, I didn't have a hair light at the time, but I did learn from the shoot.

Great, Clay, I look forward to seeing some more of this series. (Hey, I mean the photos, not the girls ;-))

BTW, do you already have some preference for your future camera?

Have a nice weekend (and not too many pinups ;-))!

Nick

Thanks for you critique Nick. I have been doing some "Poker Pinup" test shots with different models and different backgrounds until I get the one I really like. Since this picture was taken I purchased a couple of studio umbrella lights and it made a big difference than the lights I used on this shoot. I am looking to buy a better camera in the near future than the one I currently have which will take care of the sharpness issue. Keep checking back and you should see some better quality pictures.

Clay, indeed a very pinup-like pose, and also a very original coloring that reminds me of the times when the pinup-photos came into publicity. But it should have more sharpness, especially on the face. Of course with an aperture of 2.8 it is hard to get everything into focus, but this way the photo loses a bit of its possible expressive power.

Best wishes,

Nick
