The repitition of the benches and the columns draws ones eye right into the picture. But, you are right about the spot of blue. My eyes are drawn right to that spot. The lighting and shadows are marvelous. Nice work.

There's a trick:
When you KNOW you've got to use such a slow shutter-speed, use the camera's 10-second self-timer, so you don't 'jerk' the camera with your shutter finger. Just wait for it, and begin slowly exhaling when it's time for the camera to snap.
Try it once, and especially with THIS lens, you'll be surprised how slow you can steadily capture.

Nope. No tripod, Wayne.
Now, with any other lens I would have been toast, but my 17-85mm Canon lens is Image stabilized, which makes this easier to do. (with any other lens, I would have just bumped my ISO setting up, since I was all the way down at 100).

LOVE the perspective and composition!
Wonderful handling of light too. I bet it would be very easy to blow out everthing in the right side background or way underexpose the left.
1/15 sec exposure must have used the tri pod.
