About The police roust some illegal street merchants. They were apparently quite used to this, as they had all their wares ready to pack up at a moments notice.

A wonderful photo, Dave. The expressions are fantastic, not just on the faces of the hawkers, but also on the passersby who appear to be actively trying to avoid seeing what is there. Really, really nice!

Another of those shot that tell a story just by the looks on people's faces. Your choice of B&W adds to the impact of the shot. Del.

P.S. I was going to suggest "The Decisive Moment" and then I saw Andre has already done that. It fits both projects :)Ina

Great journalistic image, Dave! I love the strong B & W contrasts, and the way you captured the moment, the apprehensive expression of the street vendors and the indifference of the passers-by. The scene tells a story about many aspects of society, it has great visual impact and it's loaded with assumptions. Love the minimal motion blur of the vendors rushing to pack and go - it adds a sense of drama. Excellent capture and great image! Cheers, Ina

Hi Dave, what a great street capture, it really does tell the story. I like the strength of the black and white tones...seeing the word Policia made me think of home...very nicely captured. Well composed and excellent clarity...:)Linda

Hi again Dave,
How about "The Decisive Moment" for the project? I guess it's a toss-up as far as that goes.

Great job on this Street scene Dave!
Just look at the guilty looks on those guy's faces. The touch of blurred action works really well in this shot too. Not only does the composition tell an interesting story, but you managed to get the quality of the exposure just right too.

I've seen awards go to images that are not in the same league as this one.

Great street scene, Dave. Really like the black and white presentation too. The cop must have snuck up on them or it's not like in NYC, where the minute they see a cop they swoop the stuff up and are gone.

Best to you,
Dave

Hi Dave! Great documentary shot! No doubt this is something they´ve got used to. The uninterested faces of the bypassers indicate that they´ve seen this kind of merchants before ... Spain is in so much trouble with the never ending flow of immigrants from Africa, looking for a better and easier life.

hey a action shot. This kind of shot always seems to excel in B/W. Really brings the mood and drama to a head.
