And of course Orion. What a good capture, with interesting foreground and even reflection off the water. Too bad about the trash can at right, hard to avoid with such a wide angle.

Beautiful, I've been trying to get to iceland for the last few years to witness the northern lights, hopefully I'm going later this year. If I get a shot half as good as this I'll be happy.

It's definately real, straight from the CCD. Unfortunately it's impossible to display the true beauty of the northern lights since it's moving around constantly. This shot is approximately 30s exposure, so you wont be able to se the texture of it.
The forground is highlighted slightly with a flashlight.

Always magical shots - this time did you use light painting to get the foreground or was it car headlights?
