thank you once again Barbara Kite. quick tip, simply duplicate a layer of a polished up photo in photoshop, highlight the top layer, in Filters, Blur, select Lens Blur. apply that filter, then with the same blurred layer select the Eraser Tool, make sure it's on Brush Mode and select the Eraser that has the soft edges. Erase the portions that you don't want to appear blurry. very simple, very very effective.
otherwise throw some Vaseline on your lens. lol - joking!
