Purists can argue that photo manipulation takes away from the art of Photography but I think it's pretty evident with this photo that when done right, some images can really benefit.

Exactly! I think that the new possibilities are highly underrated and looked upon as cheating. I think that the photoprograms gives photography a new dimension full of artphotos that are so fascinating to view. Secondly it also take skills to use it right and time to learn it well. I´m only starting to use PS and there are so many possibilities:-) I think that a combination of skills within both fields is great. Congrats on your new cam:-) Annemette

Annemette, i couldn't agree more! i also look at it on another level, some UseFilm members have amazing (expensive) cameras, but just don't possess any post production skills whatsoever!
taking high quality photos is a breeze with high quality digital SLR's, but, it takes someone extra special to understand post production also. Photoshop or similar software should be treated with the same respect that you have with your camera .... funnily enough, i learnt how to use Photoshop over 10 years ago and bought my first camera 3 months ago. go figure! :)

thanx Rafael, i didn't realize many people would notice the 'about' comment .... but then again, i purposely named the photo this title to do exactly that. if i ever head over to Europe, Portugal is on my hit list of destinations. :) beautiful country!

hehehehe, Sandra you're a crack up! :) i took the photo of the bee shortly after it's mate had bit me, so i decided to portray my anger towards it through a head lopping! the truth is the underlying layer could not be positioned correctly, so the bees head was sacrificed! :( - stupid bee!
i see that stringy white thing you're talking about, i completely missed that, - doh!
thanx for your critique, take care my NSW friend.

Well isn;t this a funky shot..I love the model...her eye...the poor bee in the background -why did you lop it's head off? maybe also remove that stringy white thing top right hand corner? makes for an interesting shot though...47 views to date...so the canon lives to see another day..

maybe it's not the camera that needs to be thrown in the bin .... maybe it's the person behind it? in that case i would be sending myself over to you. :)

Now any time you feel like putting your cannon in a bin, just send it to me. I have always had canons and love them, I have three of them and wouldn't take for any of them. The last time I kind of though I would like to try a Nikon but had to many lens to fit canons, how ever I did buy me a little Nikon 7900 point and shot, I use it a lot because I alway have it with me, it is small enough I can put in purse or pocket.
