This is a great capture, with really nice clarity and colors, Marcus. I do wish the colors were a bit richer, as in the example below. Also, I agree that more space at the bottom and left would improve the photo, as would having some object in there for context. It would be nice to have some idea what the hawk (a Red-tailed Hawk)is reaching for.

The pose certainly is interesting Marcus... :)

Can see how the body hangs as the wings prepare to *grab* the air for flight... and the power through the chest...

This is great... :)

Yo,Homie!...quick reflexes to get this shot...i like that you even managed to get hawk at a diagonal within the framing which usually adds interest...looks like he is doing the "Y" in the YMCA routine!...LOL...that true blue sky is the perfect BG to contrast with the natural neutrals of the hawk....and i agree with you that the pose is indeed "interesting"
*left a shout out to you on MyS,but alas no luv back from U :(

Great color. I know how difficult it is to get these guys to stay still long enough to get a good photo. The trick is getting good DOF. It would be good to know your camera settings here.

Very nice indeed. Love the pose.Great exposure and capture.

Hi Marcus,
I feel like I have a real nerve critiquing your images :) This is a beautiful shot of the predator. How about this for an improvement? Leave some negative space at the left (just a little more) and bottom of the image and have the branch poking up from the bottom left of the image. I'm guessing that might be the preferred composition if the two were side by side. What do you think?

Dave Stacey Dave Stacey   {K:150877} 1/20/2007
A wonderful capture, Marcus! What an understatement to say the pose is interesting! The composition here is magnificent, as well as the striking detail and colour. Should be another award for this one!
