Beautiful with the falling snow. Just lovely . . . and WELL composed. Shivering was apparently NOT an issue! LoL! No wonder Willie stays in!

I see you have a new toy to play with? You should enjoy this very much, I would think?
Your settings may need tweaked a bit though... Canon's higher ISO's are much more forgiving, than Nikon's... You might want to drop the ISO on your camera to reduce the grain (noise) a tad... You can use PS to reduce the noise as well...
Personally I love MF lens's, but the kit lens will help you focus a little better to start out with. Just 1 less thing to worry about, while your composing the shot... ;)
Also 1 more thing, as I don't know what file size you are shooting with, but I only shoot with Large Fine, or RAW format to improve the image quality... The above capture is only 640 x 426... What's up with that young lady?

This is really a great composition and a very nice view with fine atmosphere. I like the colours and your POV. The falling snow adds a lot to the nice atmosphere. Great work, my dear, compliments !

Hi jessie , You poor thing with a bummer cold !! I hope you get better soon as I really do miss you girlfriend! The new camera is soooo cool. It's a NikkonD40 and I am just begining to learn..... It's pretty exciting ! Nope I didn't use a flash..
The light was pretty good altho it was snowing it was early morning.....

No problem Michele,where you put the nikon mf 28/2 you should put the 18-55 lens.It`s up to you if you want to put the full lens info.You will learn what to do just don`t sweat the small stuff.
