About This is the Carson home in Eureka, California that was built in the 1880's. Mr. Carson made his fortunes in the lumber industry. When the lumber economy took a bad turn, there was much unemployement for those that worked in the industry. By building this home using labor from his lumber company, many of his employees were able to work instead of becoming unemployed.
