Hi Alan... :)... Thanks kindly for time and comment, appreciated...
The way the bark splits, peals and drops in large sheets is mostly dictated by the weather... Dry, which as we are in our umpteenth year of drought, means lots of litter under the trees...

Thanks CC... :)... We are lucky with our gums... Even had the odd koala out there... These poor trees have been and being decimated by the cockatoos and corellas over last 5-6 years because of the drought...Stripping the branches and ring barking them...
Then we get a few drops of rain and they shoot those beautiful bright tips... Pretty resilient these aussies ~~GRIN~~...

~~GRIN~~ Hi Sandra... They are truly amazing in their diversity of trunk colour... My special time is when it rains and the colours change like those magic painting books when I was a kid... (well before you were a twinkle ;))...
Thanks kindly...

Aussie gums come in the most amazing colours and you have portrayed this one very well. You have also captured the superb textures. Nice work. CC

It's so easy to spend 10 minutes to study all the lines, textures and squiggles. I love the colours and the border...beautifully taken!
