City - Stonehenge State - SALISBURY PLAINS Country - United Kingdom
About
I realise that this is an unusual composition. First we were retsricted from access to stonehenge after 5pm because we did not have a National Trust Membership. Day pass visitors have to be out by 5pm - If you have purchased an National Trust membership you are allowed and extra 45 minuts or so at Dusk. So this image was taken "through the wire" from the footpath. Secondly I felt that this "big sky" view might convey how a massive work of man is dwarfed by our planet and the universe at large.
Cathy - here is an alternative perspective - Used the 200mm lens. When we visited teh Trust Shop at Stonehenge they told us about the overseas touring pass. Have alook at http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-vh/w-visits/w-visits-overseas_visitors.htm Regards David - dtasker@netspace.net.au
Thankyou David for your story. This is a place I have always wished to visit and will one day. I appreciate the National Trust hint and will bear that in mind. I feel the format and composition are perfect for this subject, and the colours are so gentle. Well done. I have had a glance at your portfolio and like what I have experienced so far, I shall return tomorrow at a far more decent hour to investigate further. CC
