I appreciate the kind comment Mary! But I can't take full credit, since Ivo Leupi had an important role in making this image possible. It was a fun challenge to try out some astrophotography... and I'm looking forward to doing more this season!

Thanks Daniel! The easiest way to start taking some simple (but beautiful) astrophotography is to head out in the country on a clear dark night with a camera, wide-angle lens and tripod. Then let your creativity work for you. for example, it's possible to have great looking astrophotos when combining constellations or the Milky Way with foreground objects (like trees, water). For closer shots of star clusters and other deep sky objects, at the minimum, a telephoto lens and a mount to track the stars, along with other equipment becomes necessary. Very nice, great to see something different. Thank you for sharing. I was just thinking about doing some star cluster shots myself last night after taking photo's of fireworks
